Churn-Dash Cherries

Here is my latest little quilt. It's about 43"x 43". I found the pattern in the December 2004 copy of American Patchwork and Quilting Magazine (can you believe someone is selling it on ebay?). The pattern is called Candy Cane Quilt by Darlene Zimmerman. The original is supposed to be Christmas-y, ya know, like a candy cane, but I found this cherry fabric that looked so cute and summery, I had to do something with it. I like how the top turned out. My quilting leaves something to be desired, but heck, I don't care. It's done and up. And I like it! :)

I've already started my next quilt. It's for a friend of mine whose husband died last week. I think she needs a quilty hug, don't you??

I love it Cindy! That pattern is also in one of Darlene's book (can't remember which one). Anyhoo... I've always loved the churn dash and monkey wrench. I think this is one of my faves that you made!

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. She's so lucky to have you my friend!

I sooooooooooooooo owe you a big email. Tomorrow! :o)

Sorry to read about your friend's husband! She is lucky to have you to get her through, and nothing is quite like a quilty hug.

Take care!

That is soooo cute--I just LOVE it!!! Every time I see a Churn Dash quilt I want to go immediately and start one for me. Maybe that's what I need to do to get me back in the sewing mode.

Oh, I think your inclination to give your mourning friend a quilt is really lovely of you. And, you quilters are amazing--always making new things. Heh... me, I'm going to go CLEAN my office. Maybe then I'll get something creative done. Wait, can I count that as being creative?? :D

An absolutely perfect little "cherry" quilt - love the background cherry fabric! How sweet of you to make a quilt for your friend - some sisterly love to wrap herself in when she is probably feeling incredibly lonely.

What a great quilt. Where did you find the cherry fabric, my kitchen could use some curtains.

That is an adorable quilt, and so wonderful of you to give it to your friend.

Again, I ask, do you quilt them yourself? How do you get the binding done so quick?
