Got cheese?

I figured since I live in the "Cheese" state, I should have a cheese quilt. The problem.....I couldn't find a pattern. So, being the creative type, I decided to MAKE a pattern. And here is the result.

I need some creative advice, tho. I can't decide if I want to do more quilting on it. Should I add some swirlies in the cheese blocks? Should I just leave it alone? What???? Comment, advice, ANYTHING!! :)

I DID quilt the names of different cheeses between the blocks. I like how that turned out, I just wish I had used darker yellow/gold thread.

I paper pieced the cheese blocks, which I love, because it's fairly accurate (even I can mess up on paper piecing, but not usually!). Then I appliqued the little dots on some of the blocks for "holes". One of the ladies at the quilt shop suggested reverse applique! DUH! Oh well. Too late now. :) Now I have to figure out where I want to hang it. I thought I'd hang it close to the kitchen, since it IS food. :)

OMG OMG OMG That is so FREAKIN cute I can't stand it! I love it! Absolutely LOVE. IT. You are so creative. It is wonderful. I love the names of all the cheese underneath. Did you machine quilt that or hand quilt it?

I'm not sure what to tell you about designs on the cheese - I LOVE it the way it is.

Oooohhh! Isn't that the cutest quilt ever! What an idea to have! And then to realize the idea! I LOVE it!

Want my opinion on more quilting or not? I think not. It might take away the effect of the quilted cheese names! Leave it as it is, just hang it and enjoy it!

Hugs!

As soon as I saw your quilt I had to think of the Monty Python, you know the part in the cheese shop?! Not that it is of any help considering the quilting. I would leave it as it is and enjoy it. Take care.

That's darling! I'd leave it as is... but that's just because I don't have a good suggestion for you. You know, as a "non-quilter".

As a writer, I'm digging the words; words are always good. :D

Let me just say this, though: Happy cows come from California! Those darn WI cows are too darn cold most of the year to be very happy! LOL! Cute quilt!

very cute quilt - love it. The quilted names are subtle, but I think it is a very neat idea.

How fun! Halfway through my reading I thought I'd suggest you quilt some "holes" - then I read about the close-up picture, took a good look, and saw you already had taken care of that. Very clever!

OMG... how fantastic Cindy!!!!!!!! The little voice in my head is Urkel (sp) saying "got any cheese".

I'd leave it the way it is. The quilted words are a nice surprise... like hidden treasure. I LOVE IT!

VERY CLEVER and VERY CUTE Cindy!!!!!

Cindy, this is so clever! You must enter this into a competition! I am also blown away by your skills, paper piecing and applique are over my head, plus you made this whole thing up!!! Amazing. Best is that you top quilted the names of the cheese into the quilt!!!!! I have no advice to give on how to improve this, I defualt to the more expereinced quilters! ^_^

Very, very clever! Love the cheese name quilting. I also laughed at your fabric diet -- if only I could do that -- I just bought some very unneeded fabric today!

Cindi, that is so incredibly creative! And cute!

Hi. I LOVE the cheese quilt. Sell the pattern and a few fabrics as a kit on Etsy. We wine folks would buy it!!! Vicki

Someday you'll have to take some pictures of the inside of your house, I'd love to see all those quilts hanging up. It's got to be just beautiful.

You know, I need some advice on hanging a quilt in my house. Perhaps when you come out in July you can tell me how to do this.

In the mean time, it's been a week... I need an update from you missy! :D

I am soon to be a wisconsin resident...relocating from michigan. I was thinking about making a quilt in honor of moving to wisconsin. I had nothing this clever in mind, though. :)
